OBI 2011
Operation Barnabas domestic teams travel within the United States and are traditionally what people think of when they hear of Operation Barnabas. Operation Barnabas International (OBI) is another type of team that builds on the training received thru OB with a special emphasis on cross-cultural ministry.
Established in 2001, our Operation Barnabas International team (OBI) has traveled in Brazil, Mexico City, Thailand, Cameroon, and the Philippines. The tentative location for 2011 is Boracay Island in the Philippines, with a starting date in mid-June and 20 days in country. The tentative cost, which includes airfare to the Philippines, is $3289.00. As more details are available, they will be announced and posted on our website.
What are the benefits of OBI?
- Ministry training and skill development
- Emphasis on local church ministry
- Strong adult leaders who are trained in youth ministry and cross-cultural ministry
- The excellence and tradition of 37 years of OB training
- The challenge to show and share the love of Jesus in another part of the world
OBI is for OB alumni who:
- Love Jesus and have been faithful in ministry since their OB experience! (OBI applicants must have completed their junior year prior to going on OBI)
- Are interested in serving Jesus in another country.
How can I get selected to go on OBI?
- OB alumni should fill out the OBI application for alumni. You will also need a reference from your pastor or youth pastor and a final church approval form. Any students who wish to be considered for OBI who have not previously gone on Operation Barnabas must fill out the standard OB application, with three references and final church approval form.
- The OBI application deadline is December 17, 2011
OBI is a joint venture between CE National & Grace Brethren International Missions.
